Five Canadian provinces invited applicants in this week’s PNP results. Provincial immigration isn’t the same across Canada. For instance, while most of the Canadian provinces & territories have PNP, i.e., Provincial Nominee Program, Quebec doesn’t have one because of a special agreement with the federal government that allows it to select all the economic newcomers/ immigrants.

PNP helps provinces target economic immigration applicants who are seen as most likely to benefit the provincial labor force by economically establishing & filling up urgent job vacancies. Basically, PNPs have dedicated streams for tech, healthcare, & agriculture professionals/ workers & entrepreneurs.

The PNP has been incredibly successful in targeting economic newcomers/ immigrants. In addition, due to this, IRCC has even adopted a similar pathway to the Express Entry application management system. Well, there are now six dedicated categories for in-demand professions nationally.

Moreover, between June 27 & July 7, IRCC held six Express Entry invitation rounds, five of which were for professions eligible under category-based selection.

PNP Results: June 30 – July 7

Here are the PNP results for the week. Take a look!

  • Ontario

On July 6, Ontario invited over 748 PNP applicants to apply for nomination via the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream of OINP, i.e., the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program. It was a draw targeting tech professions & applicants, wherein the CRS score ranged between 479 & 485.

In addition, IRCC nominates the number of applicants a province nominates. Moreover, Ontario has the highest allocation of PNP nominations in Canada, thus inviting over 16,500 applicants this year. Well, this is nearly double the number of applicants allocated to the province in 2022.

  • Quebec

Quebec updated its PNP results to show that on June 29, the Minister of Immigration, Francization, & Integration invited 1,218 applicants to apply for PR.
