BC & Saskatchewan invite more PNP applicants this week. On the other hand, Alberta provides crucial updates on its PNP. Read here to see the results of the nominations, including program streams, number of invitations, cut-off scores, etc.

British Columbia

The BC PNP held three targeted draws for professions under its Skilled Worker International Graduate stream.

The primary draw issued over 104 invitations to apply to immigration applicants with professional experience in tech professions. The minimum CRS score for applicants in this draw was 94.

The second draw targeted professionals with experience in Childcare professions. The draw issued over 61 ITAs to applicants with a minimum score of 60. The final draw targeted applicants with experience in Healthcare professions. The draw invited over 25 invitations to applicants with a minimum score of 60.

British Columbia has held consistent draws throughout the year. The province has targeted professions & applicants who have professional experience in those fields can obtain an ITA.

Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan declared immigration results from October 23rd, wherein two draws were held via SINP. The first draw was held via the Occupations In-Demand Stream, wherein over 40 applicants were invited with a minimum score of 84.

The second draw occurred via the Express Entry-aligned stream, wherein around 59 applicants were invited with a minimum CRS score of 84.

Applicants in both these streams had ECA. Moreover, the province recently declared that it would be expanding the eligibility of the applicants in low-skilled & intermediate positions through the Existing Work Permit Stream. Through this new transition, applicants employed in 270 new professions will be eligible to apply for PR in the province.

Alberta

As BC & Saskatchewan invite more PNP applicants, Alberta recently gave an immigration update.

The AAIP invited over 9,200 applicants. The annual allocation for 2023 was 9,750 immigration applicants, which the program is presently on track to invite by the end of the year. In addition, more than half of these allocations are for non-Express Entry streams, with Express Entry aligned & other streams making up the difference. The provincial government emphasized reallocating spots from lower demand streams to boost available positions in the Rural Renewal Stream & Alberta Opportunity Stream.

Alberta is one of the fastest-growing provinces in Canada. The province has a booming population, low tax rates, & a strong economy as compared to the rest of the nation. In 2024 & 2025, the province is expecting annual immigrant allocations of more than 10,000 immigrants every year.

The Growing Significance Of PNP

As BC & Saskatchewan invites more PNP applicants, it is vital to note that the Provincial Nominee Programs are there to spread the positive effects of immigration throughout Canada. Started in 1998, the program is set to become a prominent pathway for economic immigrants by 2025.

The growing significance of the program indicates that IRCC wants to push immigration to more & more areas that have a greater need for immigrants. However, today, new applicants for immigration might want to research both federal as well as provincial pathways. Well, the latter is gaining more prominence in the immigration efforts of Canada.
