Marc Miller declared plans to improve Canada’s immigration system. For this, IRCC plans to support communities. IRCC had consulted with stakeholders & the public throughout the year to guide reforms & build a stronger immigration system.

Moreover, the department has been incorporating this feedback to implement its new immigration strategy. It is titled An Immigration System For Canada’s Future

The strategy offers guidelines that include better aligning the needs of the labor market with the immigration system. It further modernizes the system to allow immigrants to submit & track their applications, improve IRCC’s service standard, promote Francophone immigration in communities across Canada, & help smaller communities attract & retain newcomers.

Part of the strategy involves considering the services & support needed by the newcomers & Canadians, including health care & housing. In addition, the strategy also states that the key to an efficacious newcomer plan is ensuring that the advantages of immigration are spread across the nation & into numerous minor communities.

What Are Initiatives Which Will Support Communities?

As IRCC plans to support communities, one of the main objectives is to integrate healthcare & housing. Well, it also includes other significant services in planning the immigration levels.

IRCC annual plans how many new permanent residents the nation will welcome in the forthcoming years. The goal is to develop a more integrated plan so that the federal government, along with provinces, territories, & municipalities, can effortlessly coordinate housing, healthcare, & infrastructure with these numbers.

Moreover, IRCC also wants to examine opportunities to better target support for the settlement as well as integration of newcomers. As given in the strategy, the department wishes to provide the right services at the right time.

In doing so, IRCC will look for opportunities to fund initiatives that enhance community partnerships & increase services in mid-size, northern, & rural areas. Furthermore, IRCC hopes to increase access to digital settlement services by Francophones for Francophone newcomers in official language minorities outside Quebec.

IRCC also plans to explore options that will leverage the investment of those moving to Canada to support affordable housing. To do this, IRCC will explore & adapt an immigration pathway for international applicants committed to investing in & building new housing in Canada.

Lastly, the immigration department hopes to explore opportunities which will enhance regional immigration. This includes having a better understanding of the unique needs & strengths of smaller, rural, & Francophone minority communities.

In addition to this goal, IRCC will seek to make the RNIP a permanent program & look at the alternatives of expanding it to more communities across the nation.

The RNIP is a community-driven program designed to spread the advantages of immigration to smaller communities by creating a permanent resident pathway for international applicants who wish to work & reside in these communities.

As IRCC plans to support communities, it will also develop a new Francophone Immigration Policy to enhance Francophone minority communities & increase their demographic weight. Moreover, the policy will boost promotion & selection efforts & support the settlement & integration of French-speaking immigrants in these minority communities.
