Four Canadian provinces have invited applicants in PNP draws recently. Those four provinces include Manitoba, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, & PEI.

Provinces nominate applicants via the PNP if they judge that the applicant will be able to easily integrate into the local labor force, thus contributing to the provincial economy. Obtaining a PNP nomination implies that an applicant has a stronger application when they apply to IRCC for PR.

Provinces can nominate applicants because immigration is a shared responsibility between IRCC & the provincial governments. Every year in the Immigration Levels Plan, IRCC sets an objective for the overall number of applicants who can become permanent residents via the PNP.

IRCC further breaks this number down into the allocation of nominations for each province. In addition, the number of PNP allocations an area obtains depends upon numerous factors like existing population, labor market needs, etc.
