This week, four provinces conducted immigration draws through their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
The majority of invitations were issued through economic immigration streams, targeting candidates based on their professional experience, current employment, education, and other job-related factors.
Provincial Immigration Outcomes (November 21–29)
Alberta
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) held a draw on November 21 under the Alberta Express Entry – Priority Sectors stream, inviting 96 candidates employed in Alberta’s healthcare sector.
To qualify, candidates needed to meet the following criteria:
- Achieve a minimum score of 42 under AAIP scoring;
- Hold a valid work permit;
- Demonstrate language proficiency of CLB/NCLC 5 or higher;
- Maintain an Express Entry profile valid until at least April 21, 2025;
- Secure a CRS score of at least 300;
- Have a full-time job offer in Alberta’s healthcare sector (with relevant provincial licensing, if applicable).
British Columbia
British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) conducted two immigration draws on November 26.
The first was a general draw across three streams, issuing seven invitations in total. The minimum scores required for consideration were:
- 146 for Skilled Worker and Skilled Worker – Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams;
- 146 for International Graduate and International Graduate – EEBC streams;
- 125 for Entry Level & Semi-Skilled candidates.
The second draw focused on candidates under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, including the EEBC option. It invited at least four individuals working in sectors considered in demand in the British Columbian economy.
The minimum required scores varied depending on the sector in which candidates were employed:
Skilled International Graduate stream (EEBC option):
- Childcare: Minimum score of 102, fewer than 5 invitations issued.
- Construction: Minimum score of 108, fewer than 5 invitations issued.
- Healthcare: Minimum score of 121, fewer than 5 invitations issued.
- Veterinary care: Minimum score of 80, fewer than 5 invitations issued.
Manitoba
On November 22, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted three immigration draws across different streams.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream:
- Issued 89 invitations to candidates with a minimum score of 840.
- To qualify, candidates needed a Manitoba Supporter who:
- Is a close relative and a Canadian permanent resident or citizen.
- Has lived in Manitoba for at least one year.
Skilled Worker Overseas stream:
- Invited 25 candidates with a minimum score of 617.
- Eligibility required candidates to have been invited by the MPNP through a strategic recruitment initiative.
International Education Stream:
- Issued 165 invitations to candidates who met this stream’s criteria.
Out of the 279 total invitations issued, 55 candidates also had valid Express Entry profiles.
Prince Edward Island (PEI)
The PEI PNP resumed its immigration draws on November 21 after nearly a month, inviting 59 candidates through the Labor and Express Entry stream.
To qualify for this draw, candidates had to:
- Be employed in PEI’s healthcare or construction industries; or
- Be working in the province’s manufacturing sector, holding a work permit set to expire in 2024.
In total, PEI has issued 1,113 invitations over the last 12 months.
