The April 14 draw is the first Express Entry round of the month and follows recent changes, including the removal of CRS points for arranged employment. It also follows a French-language proficiency draw held on March 21 and a PNP draw on March 17.
So far in 2025, IRCC has issued 31,508 ITAs through the Express Entry system.
According to the 2025–2027 Immigration Levels Plan, Canada aims to welcome 124,680 new permanent residents through Express Entry this year.
It’s important to note that the Immigration Levels Plan focuses on landings rather than ITAs. A landing refers to the moment a new permanent resident arrives in Canada and officially becomes a PR.
In contrast, an ITA is simply an invitation to apply. Not all ITAs lead to landings—some may be returned, deemed ineligible, or refused by IRCC.
What To Do After Receiving An ITA From IRCC?
If you’ve received an ITA through your Express Entry profile, you must submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to IRCC within 60 days.
After receiving an ITA, candidates will need to collect the following documents as part of their PR application:
- A valid passport or travel document
- Birth certificate
- Proof of work experience
- Police clearance certificates
- Results from an immigration medical examination
- Proof of settlement funds
- Recent photographs of the principal applicant and any accompanying family members
