Three of Canada’s provinces have invited applicants in PNP draws.

Applicants are invited to apply under the Provincial Nominee Programs when provincial governments believe that they will easily integrate into the economy, thus supporting the local labor force by filling urgent gaps in in-demand sectors.

In addition, the provinces select applicants either from the federal Express Entry pool of applications or from those who apply directly to the provincial government.

Getting nominated via a PNP is different from obtaining a PR status. However, it makes an application stronger. Nominated applicants still have to send a separate application to IRCC.
