Three Canadian provinces have released PNP draws results this week. Most territories as well as provinces organize PNP draws to select economic class immigrants who are most likely to integrate into the economy successfully.

Every year, all provinces are allocated a particular number of nominations under PNP. The number of allocations a province obtains varies depending upon numerous factors, like overall population, labor force needs, etc.

Quebec has a separate agreement with the federal government, which offers the province total autonomy over the selection & number of economic immigrants who immigrate to the province. This agreement is possible because immigration is a shared responsibility between provincial & federal governments.

PNP Draws Results: September 9-15

  • Quebec

Quebec invited over 1,433 applicants to apply for permanent selection on September 5. Applicants required a minimum score of 586 to be considered. Moreover, the province scores applicants using a system similar to CRS.

Quebec is the only province in Canada which speaks French as the official language. Thus, in order to help promote French & protect its status in Quebec, eligible applicants require a level 7 oral proficiency in French as per the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français des personnes immigrantes adultes or its equivalent.

  • Manitoba

Manitoba invited over 558 applicants to apply under MPNP on September 7. There were four draws held that considered applicants from three individual streams.

Two of the draws were for Skilled Professionals in Manitoba. The first was occupation-specific & targeted over 230 applicants with professions falling under 19 NOC 2021 significant groups. Applicants needed a minimum score of 595 for this.

The second draw was for skilled professionals. It was a general draw, wherein the province invited 236 applicants with a minimum score of 640. No occupations or other attributes were aimed at.

The remaining two draws invited 52 applicants from the International Education stream & 40 skilled professionals overseas with a minimum score of 724.
