Five Canadian provinces invite applicants in PNP draw. All provinces & territories, except Quebec & Nunavut, have PNPs. These provinces enable provincial governments to nominate applicants they feel are eligible to integrate into the provincial economy. Moreover, a provincial nomination makes the applicant’s PR application much stronger.

IRCC shares responsibility for immigration with provincial governments. Marc Miller met with his provincial companions to discuss shared priorities. In addition, these meetings occur twice a year & help inform IRCC on how to use immigration as an effective tool to promote the economic well-being of provinces in Canada.

Some of the topics in the meeting included reducing duplication among federal-provincial economic class immigration programs & reducing processing times, reducing barriers, & streamlining foreign credential recognition. They also discussed exploring how governments can work together to address challenges & pressures on infrastructure, housing, & social services, thus aligning work permits with provincial-territorial labor market needs.

Quebec has a separate agreement with the federal government, which gives the province complete autonomy over the selection of its economic immigrants. However, IRCC still makes final decisions concerning PR status for those who obtain a Quebec Selection Certificate. Five Canadian provinces invite applicants in PNP draw. Here are the draw results.
