IRCC has issued ITAs in the latest Express Entry draw. IRCC grants 648 ITAs in the most recent PNP (Provincial Nominee Program)-specific Express Entry draw. Candidates needed a minimum CRS score of 791 to qualify for consideration.
This month’s second PNP-only draw was held today. 1,613 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 743 were accepted to the previous one, which took place on October 7.
Every two weeks in recent months, the IRCC has regularly conducted several Express Entry lotteries, frequently including at least one PNP-focused draw. Since May 30, 12,815 ITAs have been issued by the IRCC in PNP-specific lotteries, including today’s lottery.
This is in line with the IRCC’s continuous efforts to expand domestic draws for Express Entry applicants who are currently employed and residing in Canada as temporary residents. The objective is to accomplish the annual permanent resident targets outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan while lowering the number of temporary residents.
By November 1, the new Immigration Levels Plan with targets for 2025–2027 should be available. Although the goal of the 2024 plan was to accept 110,770 newcomers, it is yet unknown if the IRCC has reached this goal.
A candidate’s chances of being accepted in 2025 are higher in the latter half of the year if they receive an ITA in draws, because the IRCC processes Express Entry applications in six months on average.
Understanding Express Entry
Three of Canada’s most important economic immigration programs—the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)—are managed by the application management system Express Entry. These initiatives identify people most likely to fill significant labor shortages and boost Canada’s economy using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
The CRS assigns points to each evaluation of variables like age, occupation, education, language proficiency, and job experience in order to determine a candidate’s final score.
Because candidates nominated by a province receive an additional 600 points, CRS scores are typically higher in PNP draws
Having family in Canada or moving here with a spouse or partner might also get you points.
In future Express Entry lotteries, candidates with the highest CRS scores have the best chance of receiving an ITA.
