IRCC has issued ITAs in the second Express Entry draw of this week. Under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), 3,300 candidates received ITAs from IRCC during the organization of the second Express Entry draw of the week. The minimum CRS score required for candidates to be eligible was 507.

In order to be considered, candidates had to receive a minimum CRS score of 694, and the department invited 1,121 of them to a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw yesterday.

August 13–15 was when the most recent round of multiple Express Entry draws took place. Moreover, a category-based draw was held on August 15th, with individuals who fit into the French-speaking proficiency category being targeted. Moreover, Canada held a PNP-only draw on August 13 and welcomed 763 candidates, with a minimum score requirement of 690. A draw for 3,200 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates—who need a minimum score of 509—took place on August 14.

Additionally, in recent times, the IRCC has instituted a biweekly schedule of numerous draws, with a discernible rise in PNP and CEC draws in the previous few months. This change is in line with the department’s priority to hold more domestic draws, which aims to satisfy the Immigration Levels Plan 2024–2026’s admissions targets for permanent residents while simultaneously reducing the number of temporary residents in Canada.

Through Express Entry, the IRCC intends to accept 110,770 entrants in 2024 and 117,500 in 2025. Given that the IRCC has a six-month service standard for processing all completed Express Entry applications, candidates who get ITAs in the second part of the year are more likely to contribute directly to the 2025 target.

Understanding Express Entry

Three main economic immigration programs are managed by the application management system Express Entry: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.

The CRS, which considers variables like age, education, work experience, and language competence in addition to extra requirements such having a sister or spouse living in Canada, is used to rank and assess candidates for these programs.

Moreover, the total CRS score is the sum of the points earned for each component. In upcoming Express Entry drawings, candidates with the highest scores have a higher chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada.

Furthermore, the IRCC stated in May 2023 that category-based invitation rounds will be available to Express Entry applicants who satisfy certain requirements about their vocation or language proficiency.
