IRCC invited over 4,300 applicants in the latest Express Entry draw. In addition, applicants required a minimum CRS score of 486 to qualify for the draw.

82 Professions Eligible For Category-Based Selection
On May 31, IRCC declared that it would begin holding draws for Express Entry applicants who fall under six categories later in the summer. The categories are:
- STEM professions
- Healthcare
- Trades
- Transport
- Agriculture/ Agri-Food
- Strong French-speaking abilities
In the latest Express Entry draw, applicants with the required work experience or language experience in chosen professions in these categories will obtain ITAs, i.e., an Invitation To Apply.
In addition, healthcare occupations represent nearly half of the overall occupations eligible for the category-based selection.
Furthermore, STEM professions also make up a significant share.
Immigration candidates with work experience within any of the listed professions should also be in the Express Entry pool to be eligible for an ITA.
A high CRS score is still relevant & those with higher scores are likely to obtain an ITA.
IRCC asserts that the categories were chosen based on discussions with the territories, stakeholders, & province. In addition, IRCC will include the draw results as well as their success in the yearly report offered to the parliament. The department asserts that these categories/ classifications can vary from year to year.
What Is Express Entry?
Being an application management system, IRCC oversees three of Canada’s most significant economic immigration programs, i.e., the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, & the Canadian Experience Class.
Those who meet the eligibility criteria for these programs must further upload a profile with IRCC to obtain a score from CRS. The CRS evaluates a number of factors, like work experience, language ability, occupation, age, education, etc. Individuals with the highest scores will most likely receive an ITA in the upcoming draw.
After an applicant receives an ITA, they must submit their final application for PR to IRCC within 60 days. Then from here, an immigration officer will review the application & decide if the applicant will become a permanent inhabitant of Canada or not.
