In late March, Ontario declared that it would be investing over $768,000 in the Canadian Council Of Muslim Women. The fund is intended to help newcomer women in Canada who are facing barriers to recruitment and retention in the growing economic sectors.
In addition, such an investment is made to address the inequalities women face in Canada, thus working towards removing barriers for women in the country. This is specifically true for newcomer women in Canada who continue to struggle in the Canadian Workforce.

Newcomer Women In Canada: Federal Level
IRCC has numerous federal programs & services for newcomer women, including Women At Risk (WAR). In addition, it is part of the UPP, i.e., Urgent Protection Program & RNWP, i.e., Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot Program.

WAR Program
IRCC’s WAR program aims to offer immediate aid to women who are vulnerable or need urgent protection but do not have to show that they have the potential to settle in the country.
Note: Women in this program must pass all the Canadian entrance examinations to receive urgent aid through UPP.

RNWP Program
The Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot Program, i.e., RNWP, provides settlement services & support to women. The organization intends to improve their employment outcomes & career development.
