Five Canadian provinces invite applicants in this week’s PNP results. It is vital to note that immigration is a shared responsibility between provincial & federal governments.

In addition, PNP, i.e., Provincial Nominee Program, allows provincial governments to select economic immigration applicants who can easily establish themselves in the nominating province economically. Well, this could be because the applicant has work experience in a profession which is in demand in the province.

Most PNPs have streams that target applicants in professions like healthcare, tech, agriculture, etc. All of these are employment sectors facing acute labor shortages.

Recently, IRCC adopted a similar approach on a federal level & has started holding category-based selection draws for Express Entry applicants. For instance, on June 28, IRCC invited over 500 Express Entry applicants based on healthcare professions. In addition, almost 1,500 more applicants are expected to be invited on July 5. Well, there will be draws taking place for STEM professions in the same week.

Quebec does not hold PNP draws as it has a separate agreement with the federal government allowing the province to select all economic immigrants. Recently, Quebec has proposed changes to its provincial immigration criteria, i.e., primarily, the province will need people with strong French-speaking abilities.

PNP Results: June 23-29

Here are the PNP results from June 23-29 for different provinces. Take a look!

  • Quebec

The Ministry of Immigration, Francization, & Integration invited over 1,006 skilled professionals to apply for permanent selection on June 22 in Quebec. To be eligible, applicants required a minimum CRS score of 626.

According to Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français des personnes immigrantes adultes, invited applicants must have a level 7 or higher oral proficiency in French. Interestingly, it is Quebec’s scale of French proficiency levels for adult immigrants or its equivalent.

Applicants might also have been invited if they have had a job offer outside the territory of Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.

  • Alberta

This week, the Alberta province published PNP results for three draws under the AAIP, i.e., Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. In addition, the program took place between June 20-22.

Moreover, applicants in this stream must have work experience in a profession-in-demand, along with a family living in the province, like a spouse, parent, sibling, etc.

  • British Columbia

British Columbia holds draws almost every week on Tuesdays. On June 27, the province invited 180 PNP applicants over four draws.

The most significant was a general draw. In addition, there were around 130 applicants invited from International Graduate, Semi-Skilled, Express Level, & Skilled Worker streams. Moreover, the minimum SIRS score ranged from 109 (international applicants) to 106 (skilled workers). For entry-level & semi-skilled applicants, the score was 87.

Well, the remaining three draws targeted skilled workers & international applicants. There were over 30 applicants invited as early childhood assistants & educators, less than five applicants invited in other priority professions, & 20 applicants invited as healthcare workers/ professionals.

  • Manitoba

This province invited over 49 individuals under a particular measure for Ukrainians who are affected by the ongoing unrest.

Applicants who receive invitations must still be eligible for the Skilled Workers Overseas Pathway of MPNP, i.e., Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. However, there are some eligibility criteria as well, like:
