Three provinces issued provincial nominations this week. Applicants were invited under demographic & labor market streams, with different criteria for each. Moreover, different Provincial Nominee Programs utilize varying scoring systems, which results in great variance between cut-off scores for applicants from different provinces.

Provincial Nomination Results: March 2 – March 8

As three provinces issued provincial nominations for this week, here are the results for the same.

  • Ontario

On March 7, the OINP issued 2,104 invitations to healthcare professionals under the Human Capital Priorities Stream. Applicants required a CRS score between 352 & 421 in order to be invited.

In addition, to be invited, applicants required a professional experience in the healthcare profession.

The Human Capital Priorities stream is an Express Entry aligned stream. Well, this implies that applicants within the Express Entry pool might be invited through this pathway. To be eligible, applicants must have:

  • A valid Express Entry profile
  • A minimum of one year of full-time work experience
  • A bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree
  • Language proficiency of a minimum CLB level 7
  • British Columbia

On March 5, British Columbia held both general & targeted draws under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Programs, resulting in at least 156 total ITAs.

The province held general draws under five of its different streams, resulting in 54 ITAs. Moreover, applicants in the Skilled Worker, Skilled Worker Express Entry British Columbia, International Graduate, & International Graduate EEBC alternative required a minimum score of 126 to obtain invitations. Meanwhile, applicants in the Express Entry & Semi-Skilled stream required a score of 99.

The province also held targeted draws under the Skilled Worker International Graduate stream. These draws targeted applicants with experience in professions that are in-demand within BC’s labor market. These were:

  • Childcare – inviting 32 applicants with a minimum score of 70
  • Construction – inviting 30 applicants with a minimum score of 80
  • Healthcare – inviting over 39 applicants with a minimum score of 70
  • Veterinary Care – inviting less than five applicants with a minimum score of 70
  • Saskatchewan

On March 7, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program held draws under two of its streams. This was the first SINP draw in more than two months, since December 27, 2023.

Moreover, under the Occupations In-Demand, 14 applicants with professional experience in the targeted professions and a minimum score of 89 were invited. Under the Express Entry stream, over 21 applicants with a minimum score of 89 were invited.

Both streams needed applicants to have an ECA or be educated in Canada. In addition, under both, applicants required professional experience in the listed professions.
